Mental abuse?

My ex never hit me or got violent in any way.

But I have found my self confidence and self esteem was plummeting by the end.

*He ridiculed my hobbies

*Would try to make me dress a certain way

*Told me I was letting myself go

*Told me he would never do my job

*Told me I'd never succeed in the field I dreamed of working in because I didn't have the confidence

*Would ogle other women in front of me

*Told me he didn't like emotional women (indirectly suggesting I should keep quiet)

*Wouldn't let me decorate the house in my style

Mind you he never:

*tried to stop me seeing my friends or family (although he did complain about them)

*threatened to leave me or that I couldn't leave him

*got jealous or possessive

What do you think?

Sounds a bit controlling... Good thing he's your ex
