I Need A Guy's Help!

I am a college student and had to go into a local law enforcement agency to get info for a class assignment. While I was there I saw a really cute officer working. I have never been comfortable with being bold so I did not talk to him and I want to beat myself up for it! Lol. So I need some advice on how I could get his attention or flirt with out getting way out of my comfort zone or looking desparate. I am an attractive girl but I'm not conceited or overly confident. Also, the whole Police thing may be a little intimidatiing to me...I have never thought of hitting on one but they have to date too! Lol. WHAT CAN I DO???

I fixed my question because it did sound like I was trying to get a job there but I wasn't....I went in to get information for a class project on face to face interviews. (Not for a job interview) Sorry.
