Goodbye my friend

Recommended Posts

Dear Sara,

I can't thank you enough for being my most perfect companion.

You comforted me through rough times, illness and loneliness. Our days were filled with joy and wonder, and your unfaltering care was truly magical. We had some great times all over the country and explored life together. I loved your gentle nature making hospital visits, cheering up the old folks and pretending to be a real therapy dog.

You carried all the virtues of my weak species, but none of our tedious faults. You were one in a million, my friend.

I miss you, and will always love you.

Stan

Dako, I'm so so sorry to hear about your loss. My heart goes out to you.

I posted this a few days ago for another pet loss thread, but it helps to remember that your pet is not forgotten nor has she forgotten you.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Stan...

Words can never express how much we love and care for our beloved pets! I too lost my 17 year old this year and what a heart break! I still grieve for her!The loss of a dear friend who I could trust with all my heart. It's like losing a child, in a way it is!

I hope you find some comfort for your heart today and hopefully the memories will carry you through the healing...

I am so sorry dako. I know what it is like to lose a pet. It hurts like hell. I had to give up Charlie(my dog)several months ago and I, literally, still get choked up when I think about it.

Atleast you had the oppurtunity to be her friend. She is now in that beautiful meadow in the sky.

I believe there is an afterlife, and you'll see Sara again. I believe that because I want to see Charlie again...

God that's sad.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Dako.

It's hard losing a pet when you really love them. I've lost a few myself and it never gets any easier.
