Well I was all set and ready to answer this, but aside from my ex I've only been asked out on a date once and I agreed.

 

However, what ever happened to just telling them you don't think of them that way? People see through excuses, might as well be honest with them.

In some cases, when I do have one, and I say I do, I'll get this look of disappointment in the guy's face like he's thinking I'm using it as an excuse, but I'm not. Then he shrugs it off and plays it cool, which is fine, but I don't like feelin as if I'm a liar when I'm not.

 

..It's ALL situational. The busy excuse, however, is often a huge indicator. If someone likes you, they always somehow at least make time for something small like coffee or something.

if i'm out at a club, and it's a guy i'll never see again, i would probably lie like say i have a bf, or i am married. if it's someone who i have to deal with in my day to day life and who knows other people i know, then that lie won't work. so i would just say, something like sorry but you're not my type, or something like that. i wouldn't want to tell that guy i'm not currently on the market, because then he will tell everyone else that, and well that wouldn't help me because i in fact am.
