Evelyn222
I had unprotected sex then an hour to an hour and a half later I had sex with a condom. Would the spermide from the condom kill the sperm from the first unprtected condom or could I become pregnant. Link to comment
Evelyn222
sorry I meant would the spermside form the condom kill the sperm from the first unprotected condom or could I still become pregnant. Link to comment
avman
No, I would not count on that. Go get emergency contraception right away if you want to prevent a pregnancy. 1 Link to comment
southerngirl
For condom's to be effective you must use a new one each and every time you have sex. Link to comment

AwdreeHpburn
unprotected condom? I thought you said you had unprotected sex and then an hour later used a condom. I don't get it. If you had unprotected sex, you increase your chances of becoming pregnant considerably. I think using a condom reduces that risk a whole bunch tho. I don't even know what an unprotected condom is. Do you mean one had a sperm killer and one didn't?? Am I really that old? Link to comment
avman
No, she had sex once without a condom. Then later on they had sex again but this time used a condom. She would have been unprotected for the first encounter. The little bit of spermicide in the condom for the second time can't be relied upon to kill the sperm from the first time. Link to comment
Evelyn222
THanks for clarifying I just read my post I did make some typing errors but I mean't to say what avman just posted. Sorry for the confusion. Link to comment
AwdreeHpburn
oh, I see. You wanted to know if the spermicide on the condom could kill the sperm already there from the first time?? Absolutely never. Esp that much later. Link to comment
kellbell
Hi there, There may be a possibility for you to get pregnant from the first time you had unprotected sex. No, the spemicide would not kill the sperm from the first time. Sperm can live in your body several days after you have sex. Your best bet is to check out local clinics for the morning-after pill or emergency pill, not exactly sure what the name of the pill is. Every time you have sex, you need to protect yourself, not only from pregnancy but also STDs. Good luck with everything and be safe. Link to comment
RayKay
The others are correct, sperm from the first time would NOT be killed by using spermicide later on. Kind of like shutting the barn door after the horse has escaped. Sperm really don't take that long to travel up through your cervix and to wait for an egg in your fallopian tubes. They can also live there up to 5 days. I suggest you call a local clinic and discuss getting the morning after pill asap. As well as getting onto regular birth control in addition to using condoms. Süsser Tod
Isn't spermicide on the "inside" of the condom? I've only used a condom with spermicide once, well, kind off, had to remove it as my skin got irritated by the spermicide and it was hurting. Link to comment
Laughing Sam
Not wishing to be nasty Evelyn but it worries me that people don't know the answer to these type of questions till after they have had sex. My only comfort is that there are places like this where you can ask these questions. Ah the ying and the yang Link to comment
matt2k6
when is the lastest you can get emergency contraception? Link to comment
SxcLady
i think its like up until 4 days afterwards. but if needed should be done asap. like the morning after or even immediately if possible! Link to comment
RayKay
when is the lastest you can get emergency contraception? It is MOST effective when taken up to 72 hours, but the effectiveness is greater the sooner you do (ie at 12 or 24 hours, etc). However, there have been some statistics that show it can also still be effective PAST the 72 hours though it is much less effective. Link to comment
