An unhealthy habit is still an unhealthy habit and it's a direct reflection of the level of respect one places on their physical wellness.

 

I understand the advantage of approaching the issue with a certain level of poise, but truth be told, I'd be surprised if the people who are calling for so much reservation over this would have the same mentality for any other health-debilitating habit such as a partner starting up cigarette smoking or binge drinking,

 

Obesity is a health epidemic regardless of whether certain men fetishize it. And it's no secret that the more weight someone puts on, the exponentially less likely someone is to ever lose it. When someone starts to noticeably gain is precisely the time to resolve it. If his fiancee were to say, "You know what? I think I'm just gonna eat how I wanna eat and be happy with that," then more power to her. It gives him an opportunity to seek someone more attuned to his own values.
