Hug on first date

Would that be appropriate to give my date a hug when we meet on our casual first date? We're emailed, talked and finally meet. Just looking for some advice. I don't want to look like a very aggressive person, but wanna see if that's acceptable. Thanks.

Yes, I think she would really really like that!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, bring her something to eat....ie. chocolate. Or home made cookies.....she will really appreciate that!! Esp. if they are delicately wrapped up!!!!

Ya know what I absolutely love is when the man goes to give me a hand shake, but surprizes me with a kiss on the hand! I think that is sooooo romantic and gentlemanly...but that's just my opinion!

If you're not into that, then a hug would be perfectly acceptable. Don't hang on too long. If you release when she does, you should be just fine! ;-)

Im more one to hold her hand and then kiss it personally, so that would be my suggestion.

Definitely follow through with the hug (make it a big one though, not just a pat-on-the-back hug)

wow...i just got that hand kiss thing this afternoon....gush, talk about melt. so sweet, so not aggressive.. exactly what i wanted. i was so nervous about that whole part.

If it's your first casual date don't bring her a gift, there's no need, save it for later on.

 

Your quesiton makes me laugh, why are you so worried about whether or not she will let you hug her or not, in fact, why are you just aiming to get a hug. If the date goes well, why are you not trying to kiss her at least? Stop worrying about whether or not something will offend her and cause her not to like you, go out and have fun.

Yes, if you've already got to know the person through emails etc. and you decide you like each other and you are finally meeting them then I would say a hug is appropriate.

 

If its a first date with someone you hardly know and the whole purpose of the date is to get to know the person then I think a hug when you first meet is probably not appropriate. I would say a handshake would be good and depending on who you are a kiss on the hand may be good also.
