sweetooth
I have a quick question. How common is it for an artist/jewelery smith of a ring to engrave their initials in the band of an engagement ring? Thanks! Link to comment
abitbroken
There are a few designers that have a symbol or trademark in their jewelry if they are considered a sought after designer or it is an extremely unique design. I would say its not widespread, but it exists. Why? did you get a ring that has initials in it? Link to comment
poetryandlyrics
While I'm not experienced in this thing, I don't think it's common because I know that people would like to engrave something there themselves, be it an inside joke, a declaration, an endearment, or a quote. Link to comment
Snny
My engagement ring doesn't have initials. I also would agree that it's not common. It also depends on what designer you bought. Link to comment
Batya33
I don't think it's common -are you concerned that the ring was pre-owned by someone with those initials? Link to comment
sweetooth
Thank you all for responding! It is a new ring which had to be made into a different metal than the originals the store carried, so it really wasn't unique to just me, which is why I was taken aback when this came back with I assumed the artist's name. The same ring in the other metal did not have the stamp so this had annoyed me as I was expecting the same ring but in a different metal. Luckily I am able to have it removed. The first thing that came to mind when I saw the stamp was well...what if I wanted it engraved! Link to comment
