he confuses me so much

OVer spring break i went to France with a group of mostly sophomores and juniors from my school. On the trip there's this guy i was relly attracted to. Normally i'me extremely shy in school and can never keep a coherent conversation but b/c i hardly knew any of the people on the trip, i was more outgoing and even flirted a bit. since we got our own room keys, one night a girl invited these guys to her room for cards and after the game we started Truth or Dare. B/c the guy was there i was really into it (the dares were along the lines of eating M&Ms off of other people). I dared this one girl to eat M&Ms off his arm and while she was doing that i held his hand and "read his palm." Later when this other guy asked him which of the girls he would most like to take out, he pointed to me and was very sweet - he seemed quite tired so he was lying down with his cheek on my leg. thinking back on it i'm thinking, "WHY did i not ask him out right there?" Earlier that day my friend said she liked him and she was having a hard time with this other crush so that's why i didn't do anything ~ also, i'm extremely insecure.

Eventually the party broke up (at around 3 a.m.) i thought he really was going to spend the night with us girls and i was in the place right next to him but when i went back to my room to get more pillows, my friend moved right next to him (actually, she's also the shy sort so she just moved her head to right where i was supposed to sleep and was lying diagonally). i felt awkward about asking her to move so i declared i'll sleep on the ground, and he said he should leave then.

the thing that really puzzled me was that during the day he was pretty casual around me but that night we did the game thing again and this time we ended up cuddling on the bed till about 4 a.m (but there was other people in the room).

I can't figure this guy out. I asked around and everybody says that he's really quiet in class and he does have these mood swings. Sometimes if anybody talked to him he'll be really brusque and just not talk to anyone. Other times he's very nice and friendly and funny.

Also, during the trip i was very much not acting my normal school self. And i'm very confused about what i feel about him and what i think he had felt about me. Sometimes during the trip i'll be so angry at him b/c he ignores me but then a couple hours later i'll forget to be mad and he's suddenly nice and outgoing. And i would be over him if it was just a ordinary crush where nothing happens but the cuddling was VERY comfortable. i mean, should i just go and ask him out or something, but then i wouldn't know what to do b/c there's always the risk of pubic humiliation.

First, do you hang out with other guys during the day? Or have any good guy friends? Might be why he ignores you sometimes. *Shrug* Not a good thing to do, but I do it if I see the girl I like/dating with another guy, friend or not. Or maybe he just knows how to play the game. You do seem to be thinking about him an awful lot... But probably the best thing to do is actually sit down with the guy and talk to him about your relationship. Usually guys don't sit down and cuddle with girls they don't like, or are not comfortable around.. unless they're players of course. But your guy doesn't seem like the type.
