What's your breakup theme song?

Recommended Posts

Drunk Again by Reel Big Fish.

It's a great song, and the tune is uplifting and fun to spaz out to, so I can identify with the lyrics, and be cheered up by the tune.

I urge you all to listen to it, it's tres awesome.

Lyrics:

If I had a dollar bill for every time Ive been wrong

I'd be a self-mademillionaire and you'd still be gone

So hand me down my dress shoes and my best dress shirt

Cause i'm going down in style to cover the hurt.

All i wanna do all day is spend it in bed but that's bad for the body and even worse for my head

So i'll try and find a place where no one will ask me a thing

It will help me to forget and help me to say

Cause now i'm drunk again

A means to my end

And i'm scared of myself

Cause now it's all the same,

The places and names

And i'm scared of myself again.

Have you ever wanted to wake up from your dreaming

It scared you so bad you couldn't you control your heart or your breathing. well walk out the door with me on the floor

You don't care how i'm feeling

I guess a weak and tired and frightened man is no longer appealing.

Cause now, i'm drunk again

A means to my end,

And i'm scared of myself

Cause now it's all the same

The places and names

And i'm scared of myself again.

Some people have a gift of reaching right into your soul

And finding the hole

And making it bigger

There are sometimes i think i catch you cracking cynical smiles

And in a short while

You'll be my hearts grave digger.

Well there's not much i can do

Cause i'm at the mercy of you

So baby i guess we're through oh

Cause now i'm drunk again

The means to my end

And i'm scared of myself

Cause now it's all the same

The places and names

And i'm scared of myself

Cause now it's all the same

The places and names

And i'm scared of myself

So go walk out the door

You don't believe me no more

And i'm scared of myself again.

Again.

If i had a dollar bill for every time i'd been wrong

I'd be a self-made millionaire and i wouldn't be singing.

But if I did have a breakup song, it would be "Die Mother F*er Die" by Dope

I don't need your forgiveness

I don't need your hate

I don't need your acceptance

So what should I do

I don't need your resistance

I don't need your prayers

I don't need your religion

I don't need a thing from you

I don't do what I've been told

Your so lame why don't you

Just go

Die mother f*er die mother f*er die

I don't need your prison

I don't need your pain

I don't need your decision

So what should I do

I don't need your approval

I don't need your hope

I don't need your lectures

I don't need a thing from you

I'll be sorry when I'm old

You're so full of s*t man

Just go

Die mother f*er die mother f*er die

Boom

I don't need your forgiveness

I don't need your hate

I don't need your acceptance

So what should I do

I'll be sorry so you've said

I'm not sorry

Bang You're Dead

Die mother f*er die mother f*er die

Die

(just because I am kind of sadistic. lol)

In my humble opinion, Leave by Matchbox 20 is FAR AND AWAY the greatest break up song of all time. I've written hundreds of songs about my personal situation and although I wrote them, none of them have ever spoken the situation quite like Rob Thomas did here.

It's amazing

How you make your face just like a wall

How you take your heart and turn it off

How I turn my head and lose it all

It's unnerving

How just one move puts me by myself

There you go just trusting someone else

Now I know I put us both through hell

I'm not saying there wasn't nothing wrong

I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me

I'm now saying we ever had the right to hold on

I just didn't wanna let it get away from me

But if that's how it's gonna leave

Straight out from underneath

Then we'll see who's sorry now

If that's how it's gonna stand, when

You know you've been depending on

The one you're leaving now

The one you're leaving out

It's aggravating

How you threw me on and you tore me out

How your good intentions turn to doubt

The way you needed time to sort it out

I'm not saying there wasn't nothing wrong

I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me

I'm now saying we ever had the right to hold on

I just didn't wanna let it get away from me

But if that's how it's gonna leave

Straight out from underneath

Then we'll see who's sorry now

If that's how it's gonna stand, when

You know you've been depending on

The one you're leaving now

The one you're leaving out

The one you're leaving now

The one you're leaving out

I'm not saying there wasn't nothing wrong

I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me

But if that's how it's gonna leave

Straight out from underneath

Then we'll see who's sorry now

If that's how it's gonna stand, when

You know you've been depending on

The one you're leaving now

The one you're leaving out

Tell me is that how it's going to end

When you know you've been depending on

The one you're leaving now

And the one you're leaving out

The one you're leaving now

The one you're leaving now

Last Kiss- I put that song on repeat sometimes when I feel like a good cry. I love Taylor Swift (As I'm sure you all can see by my icon lol) But her songs KILL me! They really hit where it hurts!

I feel the same. Sometimes I feel like her songs were meant just for me lol.

Usher - Burn

I can almost guarantee this is what the ex is going through. She felt the relationship wasn't working and wanted out to see someone else only to realize that it was better than she thought. Now she doesnt know what to do. Gotta let it burn.

Whitesnake - Here I Go Again

I don't know where I'm going

But, I sure know where I've been

Hanging on the promises

In songs of yesterday

And I've made up my mind

I ain't wasting no more time

But, here I go again

Here I go again

Tho' I keep searching for an answer

I never seem to find what I'm looking for

Oh Lord, I pray

You give me strength to carry on

Cos I know what it means

To walk along the lonely street of dreams

And here I go again on my own

Going down the only road I've ever known

Like a drifter I was born to walk alone

And I've made up my mind

I ain't wasting no more time

I'm just another heart in need of rescue

Waiting on love's sweet charity

And I'm gonna hold on

For the rest of my days

Cos I know what it means

To walk along the lonely street of dreams

And here I go again on my own

Going down the only road I've ever known

Like a drifter I was born to walk alone

And I've made up my mind

I ain't wasting no more time

But here I go again

Here I go again

Here I go again

Here I go again

Cos I know what it means

To walk along the lonely street of dreams

And here I go again on my own

Going down the only road I've ever known

Like a drifter I was born to walk alone

And I've made up my mind

I ain't wasting no more time

And here I go again on my own

Going down the only road I've ever known

Like a drifter I was born to walk alone

Cos I know what it means

To walk along the lonely street of dreams

All songs remind me of the Ex in a way but this song is more about the journey on my own post-break-up. I guess it reminds of me right at this moment.

Songs about the ex: turn on the radio. It's that bad.
