Tie me up, Tie me down....

Not used to this but here is my attempt at poetry....

 

 

Was it all in vain?

The rush of happiness and joy?

Yet sometimes unnerving and sickly pain,

Being treated like an old and worn toy?

 

She claimed I was one to adore,

So was she just being nice?

Or were those feelings from the core,

Of an heart stained by sin and vice?

 

Remember the times when,

I would listen to your hopes and dreams,

So why the confusion then?

It was always a little more than it seems.

 

"I am falling for you",

She would say,

I'm falling for you too,

I replay that everyday.

 

The closer I got,

You pushed me away,

Let love in... thou shall not,

What else can you say?

 

But you said I wasn't a man,

And with that I have to leave,

For I have to prove I can,

Do you really think I'm that naive?

 

You treated me like dirt,

Because you thought you could,

To be hurt is to inflict more hurt,

Or so you think you should.

 

A man will stand for what is right,

Even when he has it all to lose,

But this was out of your narrow sight,

And this you decided to choose.

 

So now it is time to say goodbye,

To dust myself off and be clean,

Without you I can't deny,

That I can be the best "me" I have ever seen.

it's kinda funny actually. i have pages and pages of this sort of thing on my hard drive somewhere. i think a first heartbreak is especially good for that sort of thing. i'm not sure why i've still got the stuff...it's been roughly ten years since my first encounter with a broken heart.

Yeah I have liked a lot of girls but this was the first who truly had my heart, as you can tell!
