NoComply
ok so heres the quick story. i went into town and got rather drunk, along with alot of people. for a joke i jumped on a friend, rodeo style. he didnt take it in the joking way and hit me in the face, not knowing it was me on his back. as a joke i said what the man, knowing he didnt know it was me. and he got in a rage, and started shouting his mouth off. this left me in a bad mood and rather upset to be honest, as hes a good friend. so i just started to walk home as i was walking, a chav barged into me on purpose, then started mouthing off to me. i was in a rather bad bad mood by this point over the steve rodeo incident. so i hit the chav who was acting like a jerk when he started me. long story short he hit the floor and i continued on my way. i feel kind of bad about this, as i normally just ignore everything they shout at me. but my reactions tonight were based on something else, and i dont think it was right of me to lash out in the way i did. i know he was in the wrong, and most likley deserved everything he got. but i still feel bad about it. im not a violent person at all, but sometimes you just get pushed over the edge you know? did i do the right thing by sticking up for myself for once in my life? or did i take it too far by rising to his challenge? any help would be appreciated, thanks. melrich
mmmmm...I'm not sure. Sometimes these types can deliberately bump into you to see your reaction. If you are aggressive they back away, if you offer nothing back they assess you are an easy mark. Link to comment

melrich
I wouldn't advocate hitting someone, mainly in the situation you were in because you never know what they may do (or pull on you). I guess what you did was understandable but I wouldn't be making a habit of it. Link to comment
Zaphod
so i hit the chav Wahay! One for the humans! Link to comment
pacman
you cant undo what you already did, and in this case, the chav deserved it, so I wouldnt worry about it. Consider it a lesson learned and move on. Something very bad could have happened. When he fell he could have hit his head on the concrete and died, or he could have had a gun/knife on him and went at you. however, since this didnt happen, luck was on your side and just try to avoid it next time. Parsley
I'll admit, it does take amazing strength not to smack chavs at any given opportunity - I'm amazed you managed to find one away from the rest of the herd! You could have received some major damage otherwise. My claim to fame - Term chav originated from my hometown. *shakes head in dispair* You'd think it would be famous for the Dockyard or Charles D ickens....but no. It's famous for Chatham Averages Just try and keep a head on you even when you are drunk and annoyed. Difficult as this is. And I know that running into a Chav when you're in that kind of mood can be deadly. The number of times I've been swept away by my friends for not knowing when to shut up... edit : haha! Had to change Charles' surname - apparently it's a profanity. Guess the sweeper doesn't like A Christmas Carol as much as the rest of us... Link to comment
Zaphod
* * * *ens....but no. It's famous for Chatham Averages I thought it stood for "Council Housed and Violent"? Anyways - if they're counting "CHAV" as the "average" then we are surely doomed. Link to comment
Parsley
I've never heard that derivation before! Only Chatham Average and Chav as in the romany word for 'boy'. That works just as well though, lol. I'd like it to be known that I am definitely not a chav. You see...I have fashion sense...sense of reason....and know all about cause and effect. Link to comment

Aha - but that doesn't explain the DJ Rankin album and the Burberry cap that you have hidden in your wardrobe, which you indulge in when you think no one's looking. Link to comment
Newo Ikkin
I shouldn't really condone this but...he WAS a chav... ...Karma and all of that. Just forget it. You go back and apologise, you're gonna get a knife through your face. I'm well and truly a GOFF in my area, because I'm not head to toe in Lonsdale. Link to comment
blue-eyedspacemonkey
It's one chav out of many. You feel bad about it, which is a good thing because you aren't going to go around smacking people (or chavs)randomly. Just move on. IMO you've done society a favour by smacking them. And, Newo Ikkin, I have exactly the same thing, it's hilarious. Link to comment
