Edited because it was stupid to air my laundry to others in this way. I got too close with a guy I should have known it would never work out with and he made the mistake of getting too close too, too emotionally involved. Mine is the type of situation when life really sucks!

Sounds like he is trying to keep distance between the two of you, maybe because he does love her. And yes, you might be tempting to him. Or maybe him communicating with you makes him feel like he is not being completely honest with her, unless he tells her. BUt, if he told her, she might not feel secure. So, distancing himself from you might be his best choice.

My first thought is perhaps she saw you two together and got jealous? (Or mutual friends said something). You did say you're giggly/goofy and that your friends made comments about it.

 

Now that he has her, he is aloof. Perhaps she got upset...? Just a thought.

He's found someone. He couldn't/wouldn't/didn't wait for a time when you two could be together, and moved on with his life.

 

He probably still has strong feelings for you, but is wise enough to know that thats a road that will only hurt everyone involved. Better to end a friendship, than lose the one you love.
