I like a late dinner at home, maybe cook it together, invite friends or not, and let the night unfold. Someone will want to watch the ball but the TV is a downer, so try to isolate it

I'm old, so what I'd enjoy probably won't mean much to you. But in my city, I'd love a fun dinner (not too fancy, maybe something I haven't tried before) followed by viewing the fireworks show from a good vantage point.
