I love him but don't know if I see a future - advice needed

Bu if you love someone as much as he says he does, why wouldn't you give it your all?

 

Because maybe he is giving it his all and that doesn't mean his all is a good match for what you are looking for and also because you watch the feet and not the lips -to him love may be more than a feeling rather than action - to me the more important part of love is giving. Also if you think about it you say you love him but yet you want him to change who he is -change how he approaches relationships and how he prioritizes -for example you want him to talk to a counselor and that might be outside his comfort level -what if he asked you to do something that just was not within your comfort level and never could be. Just something to think about.
