To Tell or Not To Tell?

If I felt that my relationship was bad or meaningless enough to justify cheating, that would also be a sign that I shouldn't be in that relationship.

 

However, since you ask... you can't turn the clock back or undo the deed, and if there's no intention to repeat or let it affect the relationship in any other way, I'd say put it in the past. What would be the point otherwise? Telling your loved one something which wouldn't otherwise have affected the future, but will devastate them - just so you can feel relieved and better about yourself?

 

This is hypothetical, and I can totally see the viewpoint of those who say you should fess up. But I tend towards the guilty party taking responsibility for their own actions and bearing the burden alone.
