My Mom has a boring boyfriend and needs attention from everyone else

" She spends the weekend at his house every week and while she is there he is sleep so she demands attention from me, my brother and my cousin through text or phone. Proof of this is last night I talked with her the phone for over a hour while she at his house which ridiculous and lets me know she needs a new man.

 

Might I say it is NOT her son's job to berate the boyfriend about his sleeping or over-sleeping habits, nor is it the sons or cousins' job to "find her a new man".

 

Of course she should be able to speak to her son (and other relatives), face to face, on screen or whatever. I fully agree that it is laudable to be in touch with one's mother (or father for that matter). However, there has to be some kind of happy medium here. I think the idea of face to face visits is great.

Make a scheduled call once a week to check in and that's it. Keep it brief. Let your cousin and brother decide for themselves. It sounds like you resent this guy.
