I don't agree with your definition of what a soulmate is, nor your opinion that your definition must be right. I'm so thankful I never agreed with your definition (other than it's one of many ways of thinking about soulmates -but a way I consider counterproductive and unhealthy) because I wouldn't be happily married now. Rather, I would have sabotaged my chance of finding my soulmate and that would have been sad indeed. I do think many people know exactly what you are describing -you're just confused because you seem to think that disagreement with your definition means a lack of understanding of what is a soulmate. I prefer this definition from a popular dictionary site: a person with whom one has a strong affinity, shared values and tastes, and often a romantic bond Link to comment
