I agree that it's weird, but this is the kind of things that enforce my intuition that I might have had some responsibility or fault in this whole story, that I might have unconsciously or consciously done something that made things go wrong without even knowing exactly what. I can only keep guessing, as usual. Or avoid thinking about it overall. In either case I'm not overly happy about my inability to understand other people in these delicate situations.
