lauramed
Be not the slave of your own past. cas
Make a game of finding something positive in every situation. Ninety-five percent of your emotions are determined by how you interpret events to yourself. For everything you have missed, you have gained something else, and for everything you gain, you lose something else. Link to comment
BCC123
There are three types of people in this world: the ones who keep you alive, the ones who would otherwise cause you to die, and the ones who somehow manage to do both at the same time. To get a woman's heart, a man must first use his own Could the people we really like get together in this world and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn't work 'cause someone would leave. Someone always leaves, then we have to say goodbye. I hate goodbyes...I know what we need- We need more hellos. -Snoopy Maybe sometimes you have to lose who you were, to find out who you are. Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer, but wish we didn't. Love all, trust few, do wrong to no one. -Shakespeare The meaning of life is to give life a meaning Life isn't about finding yourself, its about creating yourself To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but risk must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing Link to comment

coldplay.
My favorite thread returns! Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death. Anais Nin WOW, that makes so much sense to me. The best way out is always through. Robert frost... journeynow
Here's an Anais Nin quote I have written in my sketchbook. (Works for sketching, but doesn't read so well in light of the break up of relationships....) Every moment you can choose what you wish to see, observe, or record. It is your choice. So you create the total aspect according to your vision. We have the right to select our vision of the world. Link to comment

monkeymaid
If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you But make allowance for their doubting too, If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream--and not make dreams your master, If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools: If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breath a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!" If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all men count with you, but none too much, If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son! --Rudyard Kipling Link to comment

cas
Accept disgrace willingly. Accept misfortune as the human condition. What do you mean by "Accept disgrace willingly"? Accept being unimportant. Do not be concerned with loss or gain. This is called "accepting disgrace willingly." What do you mean by "Accept misfortune as the human condition"? Misfortune comes from having a body. Without a body, how could there be misfortune? Surrender yourself humbly; then you can be trusted to care for all things. Love the world as your own self; then you can truly care for all things.
