Christening

I'm afraid I'm a bit fuzzy on this subject.

 

My partner wanted to have our baby boy christened. He's about 20 months old now. She was raised Catholic but hasn't been to church for quite some time. I was christened Church of England. We went to different churches when I was smaller on moving to Canada. I haven't been for many years.

 

We're having another baby in Spetember and I know again that she would like to have him or her christened as well.

 

One huge catch in all of this is that we are not married.

 

I don't know anything about doing this, nor do I know what the acceptable practices are regarding who can be christened. Is it even possible at this point? I'd appreciate any insights you can give me.

Hi, Ash..you know, I think I'd inquire with a church to get the most accurate information on this. That way you'd avoid any unpleasant surprises in case you got the wrong info here.

There is a non-denominational church in your neck of the woods that may be just the thing. I went to a funeral there a few weeks ago. I'll look up it up for you.
