vesper
Does anyone have some good tricks for battling insomina? I took 2 ambien and benadryl and i still did not sleep a wink. It has to do with my medication and I am changing it but can anyone offer any insight into battling insomina? Link to comment
Silverbirch
Yes, a doctor told me this . . . rub lavender oil onto the bottom of your feet and then put socks on before bedtime. Link to comment
sadsun
100 percent cherry juice before bed. Link to comment
Michele32
nyquil knocks me out. but it is not viewed as a very acceptable "sleeping aid". they did come out with a new product I think called zzzquil or something that is specifically made to put you to sleep so you don't use nyquil when you are not sick, like myself Link to comment
todayisrough
How does cherry juice work? Link to comment
Sparklesong
No offense to anyone, but if she's taken TWO Ambien along with a benedryl, which would almost knock a horse off its feet, and she's still not sleeping I don't think cherry juice (which sounds delicious!) and lavender are going to put her to sleep. If it's a problem with medications, she needs to talk to her doctor, make sure he knows all the medication she's taking to watch for side effects and cross-reactions. That's a LOT of Ambien, and topped off with a benadryl, that would put most people into a coma! It sounds like there's something going on in your brain, OP, that is keeping it from going through the biological processes of letting you fall asleep. You might try listening to some of that "Asian influenced/Zen/Relaxation"-type music played softly at bedtime. The kind with Indian flutes, sounds of the ocean, sitar, etc. like they play in spas during a massage? That type of music is designed to change your brain wave patterns and put you into a state of relaxation. It MIGHT help you fall asleep,it works like a charm for me. You definitely need to let your doctor know what's going on, though. It sounds more serious than just being stressed out-can't sleep. Link to comment
mfan
When I can't sleep, I drive to the office building that I work in, and go to the room where we have our weekly staff meetings. It's the only place where I consistently fall asleep Link to comment
Sparklesong
Funny how that works, isn't it? I almost nod off over my microscope every day, but as soon as I get in the car to go home, I'm wide awake! LOL Link to comment
todayisrough
Haha same here! Hand me the books to study for my exam and I fall asleep! LOL Link to comment
