my current gf and i are 6 hrs away from each other. we web cam chat everyday. today we had a sexual one which i wont get into but very exciting and fun.

we also write each other emails everyday when we are in class or when one of us is busy.

does anyone have any fun things to do over web cam or anything for that matter to keep the long distance relationship strong and exciting?

my ex was away at training for a few months once.

we would play online games together (family feud, chess, hangman, role playing type games such as world or warcraft and so on).

we would have drawing contests via the paint program.

i would also do sexy shows for him a couple times a week.

Interesting, my girlfriend, lives 6 hours away..on train!

It's complicated with us, I knew her online for 6 years, we hardly ever had a sexual relationship, as in rarely talked about it. I never wanted to, I didn't want her to think I was one of them guys with only one thing on my mind. I recently met her last month, it was amazing, we didn't do anything sexual, apart from kiss...alot. We have talked about it, but I don't know...

But lol, we've done the paint drawing contest ha...

My boyfriend is 5 hrs away driving distance.

Not that bad because I still see him once a month and on breaks. Like thanksgiving he's here for a week and X-mas for a whole month. And we have a 3.5 month summer and we can spend every single day and night together.

I've had people tell me thats not really a long distance relationship. What do you think?

He texts me when he 1st wakes up, then we send texts all through out the day except when we're in class or I'm at work. Then during the day, if theirs time we have a phone conversation, and always at night before bed is a LONG conversation. We send picture messages and videos back and fourth via cell phone.

And when we get in the mood...""ahem" sexy videos=)

Just 3 more weeks and I can see him.

trust me none of you should say long-distance until you date like i currently am. my boyfriend and i are on opposite sides of the country from each other( a 3 day drive) and can only see each other once a year for barely a week.

aside from all that some things we do are: watch the same movie/tv show, play games on our iPods/iPhone, have how well do we know each other quizzes, and umm our little "fun-time".

I'd like to know this as well, what about for long distance relationships that are in different countries? The movie thing is out for me because I really don't think that the same movies that are available in my rental store are the same as available in China. Any other suggestions? And twexi, I don't know how you can be like that, long-distance is long-distance, yeah your situation may be more extreme than others, but be sympathetic and understand that what you're going through others are as well, we're here to help each other out, not to size each other up.

I got you all beat, I'm in a 4,000 mile, 10 hours away, 5 hour time difference LDR. I'm in the US, he's in the UK.

We watch movies together while on the phone, we make each other videos (both sexy and none sexy), we email constantly through the day.

You just have to find ways.

Not quite try 7500 miles, 20 hour plane flight, and 12 hours time difference. We're literally on the other side of the world from each other. It would be really difficult for us to do the movie thing, just because of the difference in time and the amount of time we have to talk to each other. The making videos thing I'm interested in, how do you send them to each other? I know a lot of things are censored through the internet in China, including Facebook, I'd love to send him a few videos, both sexy and non, but I'm wary since facebook is censored and so is porn if I would even be able to send it to him.

Yeah you got us beat lol.

Our normal ones we upload via facebook. For sexy ones just find a site that you can upload videos too and just make the video password protected, that way only he (or you) can see it once you download it to your computer. I think it goes away after a certain amount of time though, I'm not sure.

China has all the western movies available in stores (you can buy them so cheap you wouldn't believe it) and then some. Really, if you wanted you could definitely watch the same movies without problem.

But yeah, the 12-hour time difference is a bit of a problem, I agree.

I'm in a sort of LDR with an guy in Asia...we do watch the same movies on Saturday evenings sometimes, despite the 7-hour difference and the 6000 miles between us...he gets up at 6am on Sunday morning, I stay up late on Saturday evening.

As for the videos...does he have a private computer? If so, you could e-mail them. You make them, edit them like you want, and there are plenty of uploading sites like rapidshare, yousendit, etc. to upload your video if it's more than the allowed space for attachments in e-mail. And you just send him the link to the video.

Most of these videos get deleted after a week, or you can delete them yourselves again after you know he's seen them. I send tons of videos accross the continents to him that way. (I use rapidshare, he uses yousendit)

We send one another letters, since it's lovely to get something that's actually been handwritten by your partner, I teach him some of the languages I know, and he sends little facts and things back to me in return about what he's been studying.

Also, we each pick a book, and record ourselves reading it for the other person, and email it a chapter at a time.

It depends what kind of thing you're into!

One of my exs used to record herself singing my favourite songs, and send me a CD every few months, which was one of the nicest things I've ever received.

Hello... I live in the US and my fiancé lives in India we are a little over 13,000 km and about 22 hours away from each other... and our time difference is 9.5 hours... We try to Skype 1 or 2 times a week and we talk everyday on the phone, we text each other all day... usually Im going to bed at around 10pm my time and its 7:30am his time so I send him a text and tell him to have a good day and i will call him when i wake up. then when I wake up at 6am I call him and we speak for like 20 mins... between 6am my time and about 2pm his time we speak maybe 5 or 6 times and then like I said we would we skype once or twice a week. But we listen to music together over the phone, we both have gmail accounts so when I am at work and he is at home we can still message back and forth, I sent him little packages in the mail sometimes. I think the thing that gets us is the music though, he knows what I like and I know what he likes and when we sit and listen to it together it makes me feel closer to him… My fiancé is really good at answering the phone when I call him as I am good at answering the phone when he calls me. That is the key, communication, when I am angry with him or he is with me we talk about it, we don’t keep anything for each other ever…

you can read our blog at link removed and maybe that will help you out too..... Gud luck...

My boyfriend is in the army, and is currently deployed overseas, so there's not a lot that we can do that is "fun" but we do try our best. I send him a package (with lots of different things) almost every week and we have sexy skype chats sometimes. He sends me flowers unexpectedly. He buys other random funny things that he knows I like online and sends them to me. Whenever he sees something nice throughout his day that reminds him of me, he will take a photo and send it to me. He makes me things with whatever he has and sends them to me. We write a lot of letters to each other. I handwrite and decorate a lot of the letters I write. He emails me stupid funny things that finds online. That's about it. Nothing really out of the ordinary, but they are really fun to me.

i'm in a relationship that is over 7,000 miles away at 10 and a half time difference. I'm in the US he's in India. I'm not saying that i'm better than anyone else. My guy used to not have the technology to even text me on a daily basis, but now thank god he got a blackberry where we can text through yahoo messenger throughout the day, and then skype whenever we are both free from our busy lives. Me and my guy have been going strong for almost 3 years, and we just do what most of you have said. We e-mail constantly, IM through yahoo throughout the day, and we both send each other things in the mail, like I just sent him a ring for his b-day, and he sent me flowers on our 2 year anniversary. What I think is whatever works best for ur relationship you do.

I'm 10500 miles away from my girlfriend but yeah we'll webcam as much as possible, only really able to do it in the mornings (early for her) or at nights (late for me) though because of time complications etc. We both work and uni's going to be starting up soon so it'll be hard to get those precious times online with each other. Sometimes if we can't webcam we'll FaceTime which is free so that's nice.

Yeah we have our "fun" times too. But we're generally contented just talking about our weeks and having fun. We'll message over our phones on days where we're too busy to go online but have some time and we always leave messages during our respective days for the other to wake up to in their morning. It's something I always look forward to, she also calls me 7am my time to make sure I wake up in time because she knows I'm a heavy sleeper.

We send each other gifts for birthdays and Christmas but that's about it, shipping from UK to Australia and back is expensive. When she was here she bought too many souvenirs that I had to send on separate for her, she gave me £50 to do it, which we both thought was more than enough, It was £90.

I most likely have it the easiest way of only being an hour apart from my girlfriend. We barely see each other and the next time we both don't know when. Here are some fun things to do in a LDR based on what I do:

1. I call my friend, then call someone else who has your girlfriend's number so I can talk to her

2. FaceTime and LDR's best friend (for those with Macs or iPhones

3. Skype. I Skype my niece and girlfriend as much as I can

4. Text them. Your conversations may be as chessy as mine but I don't really care about how it sounds. It matters most of how you feel

5. If you have calling on your cell phone. Surprise them by calling them

What to do when you meet them again:

1. Embrace them

2. Talk with them (LOTS)

3. Spend as much time with them as you can

13 hour time difference.

It isn't that bad, still sucks, but it we are almost together again.

Spending time on video chat is really important. Being able to hear her voice, see her facial expressions, and look into her eyes makes me feel as if we are almost next to each other. Much more personnel than just messaging.
