Has an online friend ever play matchmaker and introduce you to one of their online/offline friends in their area? I love playing matchmaker myself but i'm wondering is an online blind date good or bad.

I've never done it but I think it's a bad idea. It stops people from going out and meeting people. I think the best skills for attraction come when you talk to someone in person. It's just my opinion.

I have in essense used the net to go on many blind dates. You met someone you think you like through reading there profile and then you go and meet them and see if there is anything there. I have had many that didn't click and some that have but not for long. But all in all it's fun and it opens the door way to meet those people.

I don't meet eligable guys in my area so online dating is a boon for me. I hate bars and am uncomfortable in parties (I'm somewhat introverted in that I have only a few close friends). I'm currently in a new relationship with someone from a dating site and we are both quite smitten. He only lives about 5 minutes away from me, but our paths would never have crossed otherwise.
