Do they know its christmas time

Recommended Posts

It's Christmastime

There's no need to be afraid

At Christmastime, we let in light and we banish shade

And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy

Throw your arms around the world at Christmastime

But say a prayer

Pray for the other ones

At Christmastime it's hard, but when you're having fun

There's a world outside your window

And it's a world of dread and fear

Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears

And the Christmas bells that ring there are the clanging

chimes of doom

Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you

And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmastime

The greatest gift they'll get this year is life

(Oooh) Where nothing ever grows

No rain nor rivers flow

Do they know it's Christmastime at all?

(Here's to you) raise a glass for everyone

(Here's to them) underneath that burning sun

Do they know it's Christmastime at all?

Feed the world

Feed the world

Feed the world

Let them know it's Christmastime again

Feed the world

Let them know it's Christmastime again

Okay this is one of my fav songs it is just so sad. Well all of us gets gifts and take things for granted, while theres people over there get nothing not even clean water. Well on Christmas day we will be home eatting drinking wine or beer, laughing having fun well these kids just cry and hope to live for another year. So Please everyone when christmas time comes stop for one minute and think of these people and say a pray, and help out when ever you can if its even donating money, every cent means alot.

We cry and moan because we didnt get this or that, well some people have nothing at all and they are happy since there are a live. I know for a fact that if most of us were to be there shoes we wouldnt even last a day, the heat, all the hard work, dirty and not much water, and dont even get to shower.

the lyrics were penned in 1984 by Bob Geldof of the Irish rock band Boomtown Rats, remembered mainly for their one hit song, "I Don't Like Mondays".

the "but" does seem to be superfluous, and there are one or two other imperfections as well. nonetheless, the song (which was written for a charity event) was one of the biggest chart-toppers in UK history, due in part to the drawing power of the many stars who lent their voices to it, and it raised millions of pounds for Ethiopian famine victims.

OT : I LOVE that song! It has been my theme song on many an occasion for many a reason. (I don't like mondays. not "do they know it's christmas" - though an enjoyable song... I will stop rambling now.)
