Uh, I hear ya sister! I noticed this original post was written in 2006 and i'd be curious to know how it worked out for you since it is now 2011. I am experiencing some problems myself and I agree with you on doctors. Many are worthless and I feel your pain as far as the frustration with how inconsiderate and incompetent they are. I was just diagnosed yesterday with having an anal skin tag. I went to a specialist a few weeks ago and was diagnosed with having pruitis ani. I have been experiencing EXTREME disomfort mainly from itchiness. I dont really have any pain and have always had normal bowel movements. Well.. until recently when i was diagnosed with having Pruirisi Ani and they told me i needed to eliminate a bunch of stuff from my diet. yeah.. that hasnt done me any good whatsover, if anything its made things worse because i cant have a regular bowel movement. Ive seen 5 doctors including a dermatologist. I do know I have a hemrrhoid but i believe many things ive experienced have been by cause and effect. I think i started off with some minor itching.. and then the more i stratched the more it itched and in turn caused a SEVERE hemrroid.. to which left me with a skin tag. they say I might have a fistula.. because I am experiencing some kind of clear, sticky drainage after i rub or scratch the area. Smells weird too.. not like feces or anything.. just doesnt smell normal. Kinda smells like something that SHOULD come from the vaginal area. this whole thing has turned my life upside down. and yeah.. i noticed at one point irregular vaginal discharge. I was afraid with all the stuff going on down there, moisture from the anal area that possibly some bacteria had started to develop and that is what caused irregular vaginal discharge. I must say in your case though.... In the past I had a long period of time where i experienced DAILY irregular discharge all day long (this lasted about a month or two before i finally got tired of it and decided to see a doctor).. i was on a certain type of birth control pill. WEnt in to see a gyno and told her about it.. they changed my pill and that took care of THAT problem. I do also believe that the food we eat plays a HUGE roll in what kind of vaginal discharge we are having. Anyway, in the last 2 months i have had a lot of discomfort... itchiness SOO bad that i started to bleed and leak that clear drainage from "somewhere" leaving me almost in tears as i was working. After i saw the specialist and was hoping to get a note to "okay" any days i had to call in sick.. they found my issues not "serious" enough to allow me any time off work. I strongly believe they just do not have any idea how discomforting it is an unless THEY had to deal with it themselves.. then MAYBE they would take our complaints a little more serious! Also.. if i were you.. knowing how uncomfortable it all is, i would have paid out of my own pocket to have it removed.. YOu just cant put a price on what it feels like to wake up without pain and discomfort. Hope you are better

I know this thread is long out of date....but I wanted to respond in case someone did a search like I did. My daughter has a anal skin tag which is attached to her opening on her anus and they have refused to remove it. This is the reason and it may not be your case but something to consider. To remove her skin tag it would mean to cut the anus opening which would destroy some of the muscles that help her control her bowel movements...which means she could leak feces. There is no way to control how or if the muscles heal themselves and they felt the risk was too great. Hence she will need to live with it. Cream didnt work either. Obviously as a 16 year old she was devastated !!! I hope your case was sorted out and you are skin tag free at this time !!!
