Woody87
My girlfriend and I engaged in unprotected sex less then a week after she got off her period. To be safe we went to planned parenthood and she received and took Plan B which is a "morning after" pill. About a week after taking it she got another period which lasted about a week. Today (two weeks from when she finished the period just mentioned), she got her period again. What does this all mean? Is it due to the Plan B pill or should we be worried about something else? orgasmictofu
EC CAN mess up your cycle. It is a surge of hormones and can disrupt her cycle. Or any other number of things could have disrupted it as well. At this point, I personally wouldn't worry too too much, but if it continues to be worrisome, tell her to see a doc to put her mind at ease. Link to comment
minnie
I was told that when you take the Emergency contraceptive pill, you get what seems to be a period, but is not. It is a bleed. So she will get her normal period again at the normal time. The 'bleed' is what happens from taking the ECP and is perfectly normal Link to comment
vesper
just curious - was she also in a lot of pain? When I took the morning after pill I did not have an irregular period but I felt pain (the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life). I was always wondering if the pill had caused it. just curious. Link to comment

minnie
I have never been in pain or been sick when i have taken it, but i think they are side effects - nausea and stomach cramps. Link to comment
vesper
thanks guys - it must have been a side effect then... Woody87 - have her see a doctor if her period does not go back to normal after a couple of months - they will perscribe birth control pills to make it regular again... Link to comment
