I'm 18 and a virgin, and pretty hairy when it comes to the pubic environment The time will be coming soon for me to have sex but i'm really starting to get conscious of whether i should shave myself or not. I'm pretty happy with how i am and it'd probly look weird cos the rest of my body is quite hairy. i'm just worried a girl would freak out if she saw a bit of a bush!!

 

please help...

i hear it's not comfortable for guys at all if they shave it all. They say it itches and it's not a good feeling at all, so I would just trim real good and keep it neat....

DON'T!!!! its HELL. believe me, i did it just to try, because my girlfriend shaved herself, and i had the most horrible two weeks after it. It WILL get bumpy, it WILL itch like you can't imagine, and it doesnt look sexy at all.

As everyone before has said, trim it, but shaving is definitely a BAD idea

I think the best thing to do is for you to try it out. You should know the risks of shaving, it can cause; ingrown hairs, itching which seem to be the main issues. I would suggest that if you do decide to shave yourself that you shave in one direction (the direction of hair growth) and you exfloliate your skin before shaving.

It is incredibly itchy, that's for sure unless you do it everyday (yay bagshave every morning, not fun). I would really go with what makes you comfortable (ie be yourself)...If you try and second guess what women want, Murphy's law states you will fail. Some women like shaved crotch, some like hair, so again it really is a crap shoot. I do know that since the easy availability of porn (ie internet) it seems like the thing to do is go bald for both men and women. It's a social fad type of thing for the most part. Being hairy is actually a fetish nowadays! I'm guessing from your age, that maybe this is your concern (ie what's expected). Younger people tend to go with what's popular and base decisions around that without examining\denying their own preference. But I've heard an awful lot of women laughing about guys who get body hair removed; consider them to be a little too vain.

I too am hairy everywhere (chest, legs) and shaving only the pubic areas would look stupid, so I basically have to get my whole body done and that's more than I'm willing to do for any woman (and I'm sure if I did, the next girl I met would like hairy guys).

There are hygienic advantages to being hairless, ie less trapped sweat=less odour, and it is definitely more pleasurable to lick something without the hair in your mouth. As in all things, go with your gut.

my boyfriend did it to "surprise" me a few weeks ago... I didn't really notice a difference while we were having sex. It DID make a difference with oral, but not enough to reccommend it.

 

And for that minimilist benifit... he itched like hell (asked me how I deal with it and ended up borrowing some very girly smelling exfoliants). Beyond simply itchy.... think of this. You won't be uncomfortable JUST in the privacy of your own home.... work, school... etc.

 

To add to this... you aren't even having sex yet! I say don't do it!

Actually, I've shaved "down there" before and in my past experience, I trimmed first....then shaved. But go the direction the hair grows. Don't shave against it....it gets more iritable that way. *at least I think so*

 

After its shaved or trimmed to how you like it...put on some Johnson's Baby Powder or some generic form of powder. It kinda gets rid of the itching. Just don't put too much powder on or you'll walk around smelling like a powder bottle.

As a cyclist I shave my legs and got carried away one day and shave EVERYTHING off. my advice NO ,NO ,NO don't do it.
