What do you do for freelancing work? How did you become successful at it? I'm looking to do freelance work but I'm just wanting people to share their experiences.

I freelance graphic design. I started off by doing free work for people I knew, who in turn told their friends who paid me. I gave people who referred me a 10% finder fee. My brother worked for a magazine who needed freelancers, so they give me work like laying out ads for their clients, and then the clients are usually so happy they contact me for other work.

 

Thing is, it's not steady work. I have a regular design job too for steady hours and pay.
