jmh1216 Posted September 23, 2004 Share Posted September 23, 2004 Should I allow my ex to read my online journal, and see that I've been happy, and spending my time in a fulfilling way.... or should I try to block her from reading it, and only tell her the things contained in my journal when (and if) we talk on the phone? I feel like so much of what I want to talk to her about is also in my journal... and if I allow her to read it, I won't have so much to talk to her about when we talk. I really want to have things to talk about with her, but at the same time, I think it'd be nice if she knew how well I'm doing... and she might take my not writing in my journal as a sign that I'm still miserable. I keep a book of thoughts and ideas, and I don't want others reading it, which is why it's not online! ben Link to comment

And it's not public -- I can allow or disallow anyone from reading it -- the question is just whether I should allow her or not! Link to comment

Of course this may screw your other friends (can you start a new one for them?) but I don't know much about your journal, how many people read it, etc. Otherwise I would not want her reading it if I were you. It doesn't fit in with NC, as I believe that this is a form of contact. You don't need to wonder about whether she's been reading it or what she thinks. That's not good for you. Link to comment

Second its your thoughts, you should not be afraid of how your own thoughts look to others. Last don't push your journal on her, its her choice to read it or not. Link to comment

Just do what you need to do... free Online journals are a great way to vent your frustrations, to let them out and show the world. (Yes there is a hope that maybe an ex will read it at some point). That just it though, if you don't want the world seeing it, don't show it. Link to comment
