What age do people stop having sex?

You'd really be suprised by how many times a week I get asked at work "When can I resume having sex?" by 85+ year old post heart surgery patients.

Being one of the oldest members here, I can tell you it's still working. Yesterday afternoon, last night, and a quickie when we woke up. And nope, no Viagra, just good health, and a partner with an appetite! LOL!

Thought I would bring up this old thread as I was wanting to ask the same thing eventually happening. I recently saw a cover of a very popular magazine where a much older, well-known, but still beautiful married actress said: "You don't need sex in marriage." Maybe not everyone needs it, and that love, affection,companionship and compatibility are more important. I'm not planning on marrying, but I would be sad if sex left my life due to age. I'm hoping the posters here are being truthful. I'm not in old age yet, but tiredness and changes in our bodies due to physical work seem to make a difference. Do you think the MUCH older people who are still sexually active are exceptional people or do other things differently - like super-healthy and super-active?

I can't of course speak for everyone but I have always had a high sex drive. I'm a 41 year old woman now and the past year or so my sex drive has gone berserk. I'm having more sex now than I ever have. But sadly that might soon end as I might be leaving him but that's a whole other issue!

I was thinking more in terms of people in their 70's and 80's. Every so often you will hear of someone like Picasso who fathered a child very late in life and was still having sex in his 90's. I wonder how common that is with your average 85 year old. I hope I will still be doing it.

I turn 40 tomorrow and I'm pretty much a nympho at this point. I kind of figure that I finally know what it feels like to be a 16 year old boy. The wind blows and I'm sporting a girl boner.

I think everyone is different. My mom is 64 and my dad is 74. He wants to get it in but my mom has had no interest for a really long time.

 

My boyfriends grandparents had sex every day til his grandpa died in his late 90s.

 

There is definitely not an age where you turn it and say "nope, not having sex again." It's probably more based on your abilities and physical health.
