It read, "How's your week going?"

 

Why is this such a huge deal to me? I should just reply that it's going fine and let that be that.

 

Eventually, he will leave me alone if he's really over the idea of a relationship, right?

 

I just don't think that dumpers genuinely want to be friends right after the breakup. I know my ex cares a great deal for me and doesn't want me out of his life completely, but am I doing a disservice to myself if I write back?

 

I don't know. Help.

If you're like me you will write back, or will try really hard not to write back then will get so anxious and then you write back.

 

If you have not told him not to contact you and you have neither decided to go NC or told him you were going NC than I think its okay to respond if and until you feel you need to cut off contact. Take it at face value, How is your week going is how is your week going not I want you back. I don't know your story , but it sound like it's going the friend route.

i wouldnt reply if i were you. but then again, i dont know the story so i cant give my opinion. (im a kinda NC person-- help u heal faster keeps hope far away)

i replied and kept it short and simple. i think that i will have to explicitly announce NC at some point. we'll see.
