Met amazing girl that lives two hours away...how do I ask her out?

So I met this girl when I went to a friends party out of town. We talked a lot, and I even went to her place after (we're both 20 yrs old, but nothing sexual happened and she lives with 4 other roommates), we just watched TV and talked some more. I got her number, but I can't meet up with her anytime soon because shes at school two hours away. We'll be at school together in three months, but that doesn't help my situation now. What should I do? I want to just text her and see how she's doing etc..but can't really ask her out because I can't make it back up to where she is for another three weeks at least

I did make a post earlier about the same situation, however, I think the title came off wrong. So I wanted to redo it.

Just try to be friends with her in the instance. Problem of building something up to long from a distance, it might not be the same when you get there...
