Being social at places you don't like

It sounds like you're like me, and hate crowded places where there's lots of drinking involved. I don't like bars either, and that's probably never going to change.

 

Alternative places to meet women:

 

Clubs/Organizations

The library

The bookstore

Coffeehouse

The grocery store (although this sometimes doesn't work)

Fitness clubs/groups at the gym

Small college parties

 

Being an introvert, you'd probably have more luck at those places then trying (and fumbling) to chat up a stranger at a club/bar.
