k.luker
I've lived a life full of unfortunate events. I was born with a nerve disorder, somewhat but not officially ever diagnosed as CEPA....i think that's it anyway, regardless its a condition in which i do not feel physical pain. I can feel warm and cool and sort of hot and cold but not the extremes. With this condition I've naturally accumulated several injuries and scars. I have a large scar traveling up my left eye which has left me mostly blind. I have 3 others up the right corner of my mouth. I walk with a cane, which i think goes smoothly its mainly just so i don't lose balance. Other marks aside would you say there's much hope? Link to comment

But it all starts inside of you and you have to believe it before you will ever get to see it. Link to comment

waveseer
Have you considered plastic surgery? Link to comment
k.luker
I have but unfortunately I can't afford it and in my condition the idea of surgery leaves me a little nervous. I'm in the hospital alot and things tend to get iffy when i'm under the knife. Link to comment
waveseer
What do you mean, iffy? Link to comment
k.luker
If something goes wrong after surgery I cant feel it so my hospital stays tend to be longer and if something goes wrong afterward it leaves me in a bit of a predicament. Link to comment
waveseer
The risk may be somewhat high, but so is the reward. Link to comment
k.luker
A false face haahaha yeah hard to turn down. It has indeed been considered but I dont have the stomach to risk myself for my looks.....plus cosmetic surgery isnt covered under my health insurance haaha Link to comment
waveseer
Well, there is still hope, I mean look at Dr. House. Link to comment
waveseer
The main doctor character on the tv show House. He's not very attractive and he walks with a cane and he's surly, snide, sarcastic, and acts superior. Women love him. Link to comment
k.luker
OHH OHH House!!! haaha that is a good point we do have the same humor i suppose. My friend got me into that I guess there was a girl with CEPA on it. Link to comment
columbine
Don't feel like you aren't attractive. I know it's easy to say but truly, your lack of confidence will show through. I hate to be cliche but think about your personality and enhance all the best aspects. No matter what you look like, you've got to have something to say for yourself. Charm and a great sense of humour are hugely important to me, and to all the girls i know. A guy could be brad pitt but if he's charmless and dull he quickly becomes unattractive. Big yourself up, you're obviously suffering from a lack of confidence and things have been hard. Good luck. x Link to comment
Ac143
Well, there is still hope, I mean look at Dr. House. I LOVE house !! lol. But to the OP - there is hope! It comes from within! You dont need plastic surgery to be loved! Someone out there will love you for YOU! Link to comment
