My friend knows this man. He thinks she is a sl*t, a cheater and can't be trusted (he has told her this to her face).

 

Also she has doubts in him, and she has expressed this to him and he said he cant be with someone who doubts him.

 

Yet he is still pursuing my friend. He dont want a FWB type thing. He tells her he is in love with her and wants to be with her.

 

How can this be?

Love and hate are very close emotions. If you don't hate a girl, you don't love her enough.

 

Based on this - and since your friend is sticking around, even after the guy said all those stuff - their bond is unbreakable.

 

Karmic bonds can go back for hundreds of lives. I bet the guy cheated on the girl in his last life. thereforee, he owes the girl a karmic debt. This debt will once again bind them together, unless one person becomes a monk.
