A fragment of the former me

The mirror hangs upon that wall,

Her reflection is staring back,

Her heart was on the line,

She heard the deadly crack.

And in the darkness of the night,

All that’s still glistening,

Are the tears streaming down her broken face,

You were only in it for the chase.

You laugh at her pain,

You touched her dear hand,

She pulls away,

Your deadly laugh begins to stray.

Look at her,

Look at her,

Do you see what they see,

She’s torn,

She’s shattered,

Lonesome forgotten,

Just walk away,

Just walk away,

She’s what you left her to be,

Just a fragment of the former me.

Her makeup works its way down her cheeks,

While the screams of pain,

Grow louder and louder,

Like stormy weather the tears continue to rain.

They pour down,

Heavy at first,

But the tears,

Are surely not the worst.

Its the scars on her wrists,

That do not fade,

So ashamed she is,

That they are hand made.

Look at her,

Look at her,

Do you see what they see,

She’s torn,

She’s shattered,

Lonesome forgotten,

Just walk away,

Just walk away,

She’s what you left her to be,

Just a fragment of the former me.

She fights and fights,

With all her might,

But soon becomes tired,

She gives into the night.

You won once again,

This secret she won’t tell,

To afraid,

To the floor she again fell.

Disgusted at herself,

Haunted by you,

She tries to fool herself,

This just cannot be true.

Look at her,

Look at her,

Do you see what they see,

She’s torn,

She’s shattered,

Lonesome forgotten,

Just walk away,

Just walk away,

She’s what you left her to be,

Just a fragment of the former me.

Just walk away,

Just walk away,

She’s what you left her to be,

Just a fragment of the former me.
