Looking at the context, I'd imagine that they have been together 30 years, but are not married. Oops, didnt notice that yeah, they ARENT married... Well, we talked about it this weekend... (I did end up going to the family wedding thing... handy!) and he is going in the same direction as I am... he knows I dont want kids without being married. In his words...
