General Myspace question

I think Myspace is foolish...nonetheless I entertain myself looking at profiles on occasion during work hours. Just curious if people know you looked at their profile?? I'm assuming you have to have an account and be logged in...that right??

If they have put a stat counter into their pages code they can know who is visiting, your ip, where you are from , how long you stay, what links you click to leave, if you come back.......... stats are endless...

 

But, thats only if they have put a stat counter onto their page.

Thanks. I kept seeing advertisements saying "See who's viewing your profile", so I began to wonder. I better stop...don't want old friends, ex's, etc. to know I curious about them. Hopefully I haven't been busted.

I have never even been on myspace, face book, or any other things like that. Guess I'm weird.

I'm curious to know if that tracking device works also! I really don't like the idea of it. I really don't want certain people to know I've been looking at their page everyday, especially if it's someone I have a crush on lol.

My son had profile tracker on his page and he said it worked for him and that he knew each time someone clicked his page and who it was. I know he also has said that there are several trackers, and some of them may or may not work.

The trackers I have downloaded haven't worked... I haven't tried many though.

only if you have a myspace tracker. i had one that used to work, now it doesn't.

 

those people who you see posting on other profiles saying "check out this tracker" aren't posting those messages. i read the "terms and agreements" for some of those tracker sites and in it, it states that if you agree to their terms, they will log into your account and post ads on other's profiles for their tracker.

 

ever since then, i don't use them.

 

friendster, however, has a built in feature that lets you see who's looked at your profile.

 

but obviously, if you're not a member of either site and you're just browsing, they won't be able to tell who you are other than your IP address and what city you're from.
