Poem- Depression,

A little different to what I've shown before, but Feedback would be appreciated!!

 

Motivation to get up in the morning is tough,

Knowing that the day ahead is guaranteed to be rough,

When everything you do in the day becomes a chore,

When you go to sleep at night and just can't take no more,

When the simplest things to do seem like such a task,

When the only hope you got is that day'll be the last,

Getting through the day, feelin that you've got nothing,

Knowing you're the only one to make that nothing something,

But that is just impossible when you got no motivation,

Nothing to smile about in life no inspiration,

When you open your eyes and cry, and you just wanna die,

When the hardest thing in the world then is to be alive,

When you feel like its the world against little old you,

When you got this frustration, but dont know what to do,

When you wanna end your life, over how low you feel,

When you focus on the pain, the only thing thats real,

You can get through it, Just be proud of who you are,

Show the world what u can do, and that u can go so far,

Coz after every dark night, comes another brighter day,

Believe in yourself, where theres a will theres a way,

There was a time, I felt, the world was on my shoulders,

Days were so dark, and the nights couldn't have been colder,

It's a hard journey, a long rollercoaster ride,

But worth it in the end, when you no longer hide,

And you go out there, and show the world what u can give,

When the best thing in the world is how happy you are to live.

I must say, it is a very well written poem, and I'll tell you why I think so!

 

Most people going through a tough time don't want to read a "happy" poem about life, so the start of that poem would definitely be what they are feeling, and they would connect with it and read on. As you read on, you begin to see the emotions changing, and becoming more grounded and positive... This is just wonderful, as it shows the "sun rising" over depression!

 

I can't express how well that flows from dark to light! I think poems like this are truly what show the power of the human emotions vs. rational thought!

Aww wow thanx 4 the positive reaction!! Thats true I've posted a lot on here about life and love.. so I though I'd go 4 a new direction. Im glad u liked it your words meant a lot... Im gettin closer to being published and words like that inspire me to keep writing.

that was a really good poem it was really effective and to a degree something i can reflect on at parts. it tells pretty much of a story and im glad you learnt to love your life (if representing you). great stuff.
