shoebaby1
I have been on birthcontrol for about 11 months, my periods are regular and normal, but this time its really light. Is this normal, could I be pregnant or something? Link to comment
Newo Ikkin
BC often makes periods light at random times. I'd say lucky you! But if you believe there's a chance you could be pregnant - best be safe than sorry I say. Link to comment
shoebaby1
well I haven't missed any pills but I know that BC is not 100 percent effective right. I am scared lol Link to comment
Newo Ikkin
I get panicky sometimes too, *hugs* It cant hurt to check. But I have a gut feeling that you're fine. I reinforce, best be safe than sorry! Link to comment
insofar
Just get a pregnancy test to clear your mind. If you've been consistently on birth control the chances are very low that you're pregnant. Link to comment
BellaDonna
I was on BC for 10 years and there were some months that I almost had no period at all. Keep in mind that BC prevents you from ovulating, thus the lining of your uterus will be much ligher. The "periods" you get while on BC are not actually real periods, they are just withdrawal bleeds. I think it's very normal to get a "period" which is much lighter now and then while on BC- but if it makes you feel better- take a pregnancy test anyways. (I always used to do that out of paranoia every time I had a light or nonexistant period, so I understand your worry). BellaDonna Link to comment
kellbell
Hey there, I agree with Bella. I am the Orthro Evra Patch and when I first started using it, my periods were the same as if I was not on the Patch. But as time went on, my periods have gotten significantly lighter. I have been on the patch for over 2 years and I apologize about the too much info, but I only use like mabe 2 tampons (first day) and the rest of the time, I use those panty liners. My periods are not heavy enough to use tampons after the first day. I am sure you are okay. Link to comment
shoebaby1
Oh good, thanks you guys, If I keep feeling like something isn't right I wll get a pregnancy test. Thanks again Link to comment
sparkle1
Shoebaby - I think the fact you've got your period should be a good indicator that you're not. Periods can change due stress, life style, diet etc.....if you've not missed a pill my guess is that it will be very unlikely you would be pregnant. Hugs Sparkle x Link to comment
