paige123
Has anyone else ever experienced this? When you love someone no matter what they say or do that hurts you. It doesn't make any sense, why can't you just switch off? Maybe if you truly love someone, you just always do. Link to comment
skyjuice
Hi May it is a obsession in the idea of love. Link to comment
laboheme
I think a lot of people on this forum have experienced that. I'm talking, of course, about breakups...one of the worst forms of hurting somebody. And yet, after having our heart broken, we still love them and want them back... Link to comment
Dako
Unfortunately, loving someone isn't dependant on reciprocity. Unrequited love or loving someone who dumps you is pretty common. Link to comment
BeStrongBeHappy
yea, we think loving someone is a function of how worthy the person we love is... but in reality, maybe it just shows that you are a person capable of deep love and connection, regardless of whether the person you focus on is worthy of it... i'd rather be someone that loves a jerk (and recognizes that they don't love me back), than a jerk who treats someone badly and uses their kind heart and love... so you need to try to balance your love vs. whether the person really is worthy of it. if not, then you can recognize that you have a great capacity for love, but that person doesn't deserve it... it takes time to 'unlove' a person when you are a person of depth, so recognize that and be kind to yourself, but know when it is time to move on and find someone worthy of your love and attention.
