This last weekend I was thinking about my feelings for him, meanwhile (I was on holiday) him and my friend have gotten close, and he's about to ask her out. I obviously can't do anything now, so I need to know how to get over someone fast.

Could the reason you want him now be that he's interested in someone else? You know a little: "you always want what you can't have" thing? If that's not it, talk to him about it. If he's still interested, it's not too late.

i dont know what you want and you are afriad that you are missing out and that is why you want him to be close. If he goes with your friend you lose the attention.
