My guess would be 'yes'. The trick is to use just enough so that the friction is not painful for you (ie, to replace natural lubrication), but not so much as to make it very slippery and actually impede the sensation of friction, which is the pleasurable part for the penetrating party. The thing about anal sex is that the rectum is very tight at the opening, but not so tight inside as compared with the vagina, so for a hetero couple the guy will get most of his stimulation from the friction he feels at the opening, and not much from inside your butt ... and if the opening is overly lubed and it cuts down on the sensation, that can be the cuplrit that undermines an otherwise good experience.

 

So, try using less lube next time. Experiment and have fun!
