oscuro
My partner left me a month ago, after eight years. She didn't have great reasons for leaving. Just said she hates herself and I deserve better. She also struggled with depression throughout and stopped taking her medication some months ago. So I sit around going up and down emotionally. I am an artist and found myself diving deep into my work which is surprising... because I haven't dived deep into in some time. I wanted to write something smart and persuasive about the creative practice and it's ability to heal. However I am unable to. I want to strongly recommend that people give it a chance. If you've never painted, try it. If you've never written a poem, write several. Do this for several days and you may find it very therapeutic. So I want to take a moment to speak of my emotion, visually - https://www.instagram.com/p/Bly8wD5BG9x/ - https://www.instagram.com/p/Bl9BW9yh_Wg/ Link to comment
DanZee
Well, that's a fairly typical reason for breaking up from someone who's depressed. Not taking her meds contributed to her depression. Keep on with your art therapy. Link to comment
Starlight925
Art of all types can be incredibly therapeutic. Good for you for trying something new! I recently learned to knit, and now I can't stop, lol. I'm absolutely mesmerized by it, and I've even joined a knitting group and made new friends. It's an art form, in that you're creating something, and it requires patience and a meticulous attention to detail. I never did anything really creative like this before, as I never had any talent for anything, but I finally understand people who use art as therapy. Link to comment
