People are going to judge you or have an opinion no matter what you do so you might as well do whatever you want and makes you happy.

 

IMO, people who follow trends and social norms have a strong desire to be accepted. Whether it's in the work place or society they don't want to be seen as the odd one out.

 

You sound like a person who doesn't care what anyone else thinks. It doesn't make you arrogant unless you're telling other people to be like you.
