Greatest Lesson or Advice Ever Given to You

Mine is "Great Artists Steal" and "Connect the Dots" by Steve Jobs-

For Great Artists Steal, I'm a fiction writer and pull inspiration for characters and scenes in almost every situation. I'm always "stealing" from real life. But I also love it!

For Connect the Dots, Steve Jobs once gave commencement speech that described different moments in his life connecting or adding up to ultimately who he would become. Those dots were nothing on their own for example taking this one class in college on typography would influence him in computing field. I like to think that although I can't always finding meaning in something in itself in my life, it will all connect towards something greater.

What is yours?

I love these!

I always think about past relationships, of how many things I've "stolen" from them: a particular music group I'd never have heard of, a love for a certain type of food, etc. I realize that what I've taken with me is now embroidered into my own life, and I thank each person silently for introducing me to those things.
