Need Advice

Someone I know reasonably well (same person I spent the day with) mentioned something happening on Saturday and said they weren't sure if they were going but might be something I could find interesting. I feel like asking them if they are going because I am interested in them but don't want to sound weird/keen/inappropriate as we are sort of colleagues so they might not be interested at all - I have no idea. Should I go for it and ask them? What's the best way to ask them without it seeming like I'm coming on to them if they don't share the feelings?

Why don't you just tell the person you are free to do that with them. See if it materializes and see if anything non platonic comes out of meeting outside of work.

I'm not sure because he didn't say we should go together but he suggested it to me and said he wasn't sure if he was going. Just don't want to look like an idiot...
