Hearing some great things about Santorini, had some friends just back from there. The island is situated on a volcano and overlooks some of the most idyllic beach views in teh world. Its hopping with nightlife , parties going on until dawn. A lot of people go for the views but the town of Fira is also mean to be amazing (link removed) . Other islands I heard are good are Kos and Crete where my parents were a while back. A lot the islands can be reached through ferry with a lot of ferries leaving from Piraeus port in Athens and then taking a few hours

Thanks --- will add them to my research. Had heard about Santorini --- am interested in cuisine and views...not much of a nightlife crowd!!!

My dad just came back from Santorini and Crete and enjoyed them. He wasn't blown away, but he had a good time.

 

I've only done mainland Greece myself. So I can't give much insight, but I can ask him for details. What are you looking for specifically when you travel mhowe?
