I think that if the friend DOES know the two of you are both gay, you should tell the friend or your girlfriend should. If the friend doesn't know you two are gay and you suddenly reveal it - I might be taken aback because apparently I don't even know my own friends that well and might distance myself for a bit. If the other friend does know you are both gay as long as you are not PDA'ing it and whispering to eachother and generally being in your own world when you guys are all out together, it shouldn't be a problem.
